One of the things she said was a tremendous ego booster though:

"You're goodlooking, you're smart and you're good at sports. I bet you get all the girls and everything you want when you want it. Well fuck that, you can't have me."

I sort of took that as a compliment. But then of course the bad things popped up. And there were quite a few. She even threatened to call the police at some point. I'm not sure on what basis though. Because well.. I haven't really been around her. Sure maybe I sent too many text messages, but it would not qualify as serious. So who knows really?

Thing is, she's fucking nasty. She knows exactly what pisses me off and pushes my buttons all day. She'll say something horrible to me and then go silent for hours. And I think everyone on this forum knows how I respond to such things.

Turns out I'm an emotional motherfucker. Who would have thought?

Just try to ignore her if you can. She'll be pist! :D

Hey Seven in all honesty if she trys to bring you down then she probably wasn't worth it in the first place. I always make it a habit to end a relationship mutually on a good note. So just try to do that then move on and forget whatever happnd.

I think I already proved to her that I'm not capable of doing that.

Yeah, but that's the thing. It's what I want to do. But she's making it clear she wants to hate me. Which is not true obviously, because one doesn't gain anything from hate, but it hurts me nonetheless. I know most wouldn't say, but I am actually capable of loving a girl and this was a girl I used to love. And that we can't stand each other now just kills me.

Hate isn't the opposite of love, of course. Apathy is the opposite. It's clear that she doesn't have that for you. That said, I don't necessarily take this as a good thing anyway.

I've had enough friends in the past year whose marriages and long-term relationships ran aground on the rocks. The shit's got to work, and it requires two willing, working parties to get it to work. Too much effort on one party is just a recipe for a bigger pain in the ass later.

She is doing you a favor by showing her colors, let me tell you. Even more than she probably even realizes.

Yes. I know you're right. But it bugs me. Apathy would bug me even more though, I can tell you that much. But I suppose that all in all I'm probably best off not talking to her anymore.

Never let anyone ever get to you emotionally

that is a key rule to live you're life by
That is simply impossible. I agree with being careful, but I'm already very careful as it is. I'm not going to be House.
