Of course this is a problem but I feel what you have brought up about police abusing their power is a problem with American policing in general and not just this immigration bill.

Police know the law and they know exactly what the can and cannot do. Cops abusing their power and their greater knowledge of the law compared to the average citizen is a separate issue that affects many people regardless of their immigration status.

I totally agree with your last bit though. There should be no mercy for anyone who knowingly hires illegals
Fair enough.

Cops do this all the time to legal Americans with valid drivers licenses. So what's the big deal?
But in that case they're stopping you because they actually care that you're jaywalking where as in Arizona it can be used a precursor to find out if you're legal or not and most likely it won't be James who'll be stopped but Ernesto or Pablo.

Well Ernesto and Pablo should have nothing to fear if they are here legally.

And I've never seen or heard of anyone getting stopped for J-walking no matter what color they are.

really :D ok so lets pay americans 20 bucks an hour to make something eruope makes at 15 an hour with the help of subsidies, the real propaganda is the one you re falling for. nothing does more damage to the economy that financial markets and what good a time to divert attention to the lowly immigrants. we re at 10% unemployment becuase of goldmann sachs not jorge and paco.
I understand the real problem with the economy, you know that I do. But every single policy in place to "help the economy grow" is ass-backwards. Low interest rates to promote speculation all in the name of saving the big banks, not rewarding savers, raising taxes on all businesses, raising taxes in general, having government reward the less efficient firms, et cetera. It's all bad. It's all going to destroy the economy.

The problem with your argument is that you make it seem like the system is set up so we can compete with Europe and Asia. But the fact of the matter is, the policies deployed over the past thirty years are the exact opposite. The Ponzi economy rules the United States.

Illegals are not the only problem, but they are a problem.

Actually, I've heard more about illegals getting set free for committing crimes than actual citizens. Think about it. The deportation process costs money. Some departments just let them go because they have no ID, no money, no nothing. While on the other hand, legal citizens get slammed.

Jaywalking was just an example.
I get your point though. Even if it isn't commonly done the police shouldn't have the right trump up something out of nothing just because they want an excuse to question the offender over something completely unrelated and the immigration issue is no different. it isn't right but I still think that is a problem with American police.

Isn't Fabi one of those Mexicans though?
    Yea, of course.
And for the record, Juarez should be nuked.
    All of Mexico...

What we should do is build a huge retaining wall around our border with Mexico, 30 feet tall, 10 feet thick at the bottom, 4 feet at the top. What we do is every 500 yards we have a guard tower and huge doors. For every illegal Mexican we find, we put them through those doors in the middle of the desert, but with one catch, he/she is handcuffed to someone from death row from one of our max security prisons.

The only way they could get back would be to walk 1000 miles east or west, or way south, which the criminal would not want to do...

Why waste a nuke? At the current homicide rate there won't be anyone left in a short few years anyway. :D
The only good thing about it...
