I'm not defending illegal immigrants, how did you infer that from my post?

I'm not playing the race card either, you said, you didn't want any more "brown people" hopping over the border. That means your problem is more with brown people than with illegal immigrants.

Believe me, my opinion on immigration is probably a lot more extreme than yours. If i were American, i wouldn't want my country to be giving citizenship as easily as it does right now. That is one of the main reasons, immigrants are flocking to your country.

It seems dumb to enact Mexican street sweeping laws without making any kind of reform on the corporate end. Where do people think the illegals will go once they've been deported? If they're Latino, they're probably coming back. So you get this endless cycle of deportation and border crossings. More money being blown on problem that isn't being solved. It seems like another War on Drugs to me.

Not mention a good way to disenfranchise an entire generation of actual Americans.

Why is crime the problem?

I thought the main issue with illegal immigrants was the lower effect it has on the minimum wage and rise in unemployment amongst Americans that it forces unto the economy.

it could not be more wrong than that imo, minimum has been steadily in creasing (a lot argue too fast actually), and those jobs immigrants do 90% of americans dont want.

The flip side of that is the lower wages for legal workers. Get rid of the illegals, drive up wages, drive up saving and investment, drive up more production. But the system doesn't want that... it wants a Ponzi economy.

But yes, it's quite obvious that the government loves illegals for the cheap labor, along with the government's owners.

The shame is that in this country, politicians will be seen as being "strong on immigration" and therefore patriotic. So nothing will be done to go further on the issue, well except for maybe the occasional wall or chain link fence.

While I think Arizona has a right to protect its own borders when the federal gov't just sits on its ass I think the approach they've chosen is not right. They will practically have the right to stop anyone that looks Hispanic and harass them. Not only that but anyone with brown skin will be almost be forced to carry immigration papers on their person in fear of being deported. It smells of Nazi Germany almost.

Why did i post all of that? You said i was defending immigrants, i never did anything of the sort. I think illegal immigration is a major problem. One that the US government is obviously not doing enough to stop. I also don't like how Western Europeans and sometimes even Americans, call almost any attempt to solve the problem of immigration "racist".

So why is crime the problem?

beyond the economic argument, which is weak imo, crime is next up for detractors and if thats really any indication(percentage wise) then it would be more judicious to send back the blacks first.

Actually the bill did include language which could trigger racial profiling, which was thrown out by a federal judge last week. I think the ability to conduct searches without warrants was also tossed.
