Passport, money, plane tickets.

Nothing else is essential.

Yeah, will be fun. Though I'm wary that 1 month will be too long, never been off for 1 month before, but this is unlike other vacation trips I have done, this is more or less the chosen trip of my mother, being company and visit relatives. Havent planned a single thing in advance of what to do in Egypt, while in I usually know every touristy thing possible (even boring stuff, check, nothing special about the Pisa tower :p) and etinaries of shit to do.

Passport, money, plane tickets.

Nothing else is essential.

True that. Though annoying I forgot to renew my regular passport (been spoilt by my ID who I can travel with in all of EU, zip need for passport), had to in last minute buy a provisional (temporary, 6 months) passport, costs like 2-3 times the price of a regular one, heh. Though I think what bothers me the most is that its frigging pink :D

I'm not sure I'd fancy a month long holiday.

I've been on a couple of trips that were about three weeks, and I thoroughly enjoyed them both, but I was certainly ready to head home after three weeks.

Is it because your one of those pussies that can't stand to stay too long away from home ala Jesus Navas, or is it because you run out of things to do?

I usually think 2 week-3 is perfect, enough time to keep yourself occupied and keep the buzz and mood of a vacation, becoming too idle.

More then that (5 weeks in this case), I would gather its bit difficult to keep yourself occupied and not just be bored (long enough to be "living" there, losing the illusion of a getaway). Though it depends on how far you are travelling. The further, people usually stay longer, to get more worth for their money.

It's not that I was homesick or anything, Fred.

My thing is that the people I go on holiday with all seem to want to try to pack heaps of stuff into every day, while I like a slower pace.

After a few weeks of almost incessant activity, I'm ready for a rest.
