But why is it cheating? He got punished for it by getting a red card and missing the semis. Ghana were giving the advantage (at the 120th minute!) of a PK for Suarez's "mistake" and missed their chance to go to the semi finals. Had Gyan scored that PK, Ghana would have progressed because the time was basically over

If I had to decide to let a basically golden goal in or stop it with my hand and gift the other team a penalty kick I would choose the second option since the other team might screw up the PK. And that's what happened

Of course, I wouldn't look down on him for it but it is undeniable cheating to use your hand. It's part of the game, but whether you get caught or not using your hands is cheating.

He cheated, but no one in that situation would just let the ball in, you would do anything to stop it....which is what he did. I think he could have got to it using his head or chest but it was his choice. Its the same reason henry did what he did in the play off, if i were in the same situation as either of them i imagine i would do the same thing.

When i play friendly games with my mates i sometimes do stuff like that without thinking/realising i have done it.

Suarez is a legend. He did exactly what he had to do and simply got punished for it. He did the right thing. If one of our players done that and we had the same outcome as Uraguay then we'd call him a hero.
