The past three summer i have worked at a roadchef :snoop: in a pizza hut that they had there - good money, local etc, But they shut it down because they are refurbing the site. So they have stuck me in the Costa on the other side of the motorway. Its a hell of a lot better than working in pizza hut (if you want a tip - never eat at pizza hut ). I would be after a graduate job but im planning on travelling next june so im happy with a menial job to get 6k together to go. Then im doing an MA in political comms and getting on a graduate scheme!

What do you guys do now that terms out, are planning on going to uni/higher education nick?

I work full time mate. I kinda turned my back on education when I first got employed at 16, I think now being 19(20 in December) it's too late.
Its never too late man, if you wait untill you are 26 you get free tuition and the open university will let you take a degree regardless of your qualifications.

My dad finished school at 16, he wanted to be a mechanic so did an apprenticeship, his dad through a friend got him a job working in the civil service as a regional MOT regulation enforcer and he got onto the civil service development scheme, he had to get a degree to move up the ladder quicker and now he is the chief engineer and deputee head of vehicle safety in the ministry of transport, works with the EU and UN. I am not trying to show off, im trying to demonstrate that its possible to do these things later on and get into the higher positions.

I know you told me a few days back, but my mind is all over the place atm, what is it you are doing at the moment?

Pretty much anyone who has ever been in a kitchen in any restuarant will have unpleasant tales to tell. There certainly were some pretty nasty goings on where I used to work .

I'm doing fuck all and half heartedly looking for a proper job.

Its not horror stories, the kitchens were clean all the time. The stuff thats nasty is the sheer ammount of oil that goes into the food - on a deep pan pizza it is at least 10mm deep in oil, and then we sprayed oil on the top as well. All of the chicken is sourced from thailand...its stuff like that.

When do you finish your degree/what are you reading?
