Which outlook are you using. How much memory you got on that machine anyhow? You know how to start Outlook in safe mode?
2007. 2gb of memory and the thing is still slow, can you believe it? The problem is that it's not just email, it's also calendar and a million other completely useless things. Unfortunately, people around here use the calendar to schedule meetings etc so I can't so easily dump the whole thing.

What's safe mode?

Motorway? You mean highway or? Where's the problem there?
Changing lanes. I have some kind of dementia about this. I have no idea when it's safe unless I got miles of space ahead and behind. And once in a while I totally screw up and almost hit the other car.

Parking ain't all that hard, it's just practice. Just lay of the gas and go slow and let the others honk. And try and always park the same way untill it becomes second nature. For example for the next two weeks always try and park in reverse, then when you're completely relaxed, work on side parking. It really becomes second nature real quick. If you drive that is. :D
Yeah that's the problem in a way. I don't have a car and I never had a chance to drive enough to get a lot of practice at this.

2 GB is way too little actually. That's why.

Safe mode is a switch that would make Outlook run without all the add-ons.

Give it a try. Close Outlook first (might take a while to close with 2GB and ensure Outlook.exe is not in running in task manager). Go to Start > Run and type "outlook.exe /safe" without quotes. Hit enter.nOutlook will start and the banner on top should say safe mode. might help.

It is safe when you see the car on the side in your rear view mirror.

Dude, you got them side mirrors, rearview mirror and your eyes...You have some weird phobia of driving. :D

Well that explains it. Get a car. Fancy new job, you outta be able to get a good credit for it, especially in todays economy. They're practically giving away cars now.

Yeah, I think you and I have a different idea of how much memory it takes to do email. I'm guessing you haven't written a lot of software since you think 2gb for outlook is reasonable.

Here goes.

probably, but you have windows xp and outlook to run.. and in today's word, 2 gb is really too low. Try to lose the Win XP skin and get some classic look. That would surely free up some memry. You also need to check what software you have in the startup items.

tbh I'm not sure that it's using that much memory, it's just really unresponsive. I unminimize it and it's much slower than everything else to respond

So when you see a car there it's safe, but then you don't see the car if it's actually next to you. That's how I almost caused an accident last week when I was moving.

If I could see the whole thing from above..
That's what's called "dead angle" and you're supposed to turn your head left when changing into a left lane. Right side is much more visible. You went to driving school, right? :D

Check the safe mode. Or your machine really sux. Outlook 2007 isn't that heavy on the sytem though. I am running it here on a 4GB machine for the past 2 years. Soon will get the super fast Outlook 2010 :jvefan:

Yeah, but I took very few lessons because I was so "advanced" (ie. my dad had been teaching me).

Besides, I learned to drive in Norway. Do you have any idea how rare motorways are there? :D
