    Why one 'r', not two?
    Curr is your name...

    Cur is:

    cur |kər|
    noun
an aggressive dog or one that is in poor condition, esp. a mongrel.
    • informal: a contemptible man.
ORIGIN Middle English (in the general sense [dog] ): probably originally in cur-dog, perhaps from Old Norse kurr ‘grumbling.’

Man up and explain why you think they are more important than the other bands?

Because they were popular? means shit, britney spears is popular and she hasnt made any difference to the music industry.

Get out of your fanboy head and actually look at what has happened.
I am well versed in music and I listen to a wide variety of music from what you mentioned, I respect that bands like the kinks and led zep are infliental but they wouldn't have taken the same musical direction ad the beatles. And no I was never reffering to popularity in the first place. It's both stupid and ignorant of you to say that withouht even considering a thing.

So let's start with love me do, a single that signalled a fresh new start in music, the late 50's and 61&2 in music were a disaster as nothing progressed, all of a sudden you get a clean beat sound cutting straight through the airwaves. Cut to a sing such as she loves you or hey jude, simple rythms that imprint on the listeners mind so much that even the stones admit to copying the idea off hey jude onto you can't always get what you want. They created new sounds, no-one bar maybe Zappa evolved early electric music so much just listen to revolution 9, good morning, within without you ect. They sang the first polictical songs, check out the word and surely you know all you need is love, they sang about drugs: get back Gotta get you into my life.
Not to mention on revolver they expanded recording tape formats from 6 to 12 to 18 tape mixes, that's pretty revolutionary if you ask me, I doubt that many other bands would have helped develop that at their own studios. The diffrent techniques they established like backwards guitar solos, lyrics. Droning lyrics.
Don't even get me on sgt pepper, all I'll say on that is they created that an album has an identity and is not a collection of singles. You go and ask jimmy page and he'll tell you that's true, pretty damn important considering every fucking album since has followed suit.

As a band they created the archetype of a self suffiecient band, the fact you even mentioned the kinks is hillarious as the Davis brothers can't even hold a candle to Lennon/McCartney or even some of harrisons musical work and evolution through the years.
The beatles as personalities also set the precedent for how a band can be infectious, take Lennons witty remarks and his ability to charm and ridicule reporters, elvis wouldn't have dared do that.

I could carry on writing for ever but I'm on my phone so I think I'll stop.

It's one of the oldest British derogatory words.
And yet their performance on the 'ed sulivan show in 1964 is still the largest tuned into performance in America of all time.

I always suspected it was. I thought Deneb was alway a bit more into rap or whatever though.
Anyway, he's great but I'd say little Richard did more than him.
