I say go for the wine, food wouldn't be bad either. How religious are these Greek Canadians? Before choosing a gift you should take into account whether they view this as a religious celebration or just a holiday

On thursday we conmemorate the Last Meal
On friday we comnmemorate Jesus' death, there are no Church services and some hardcore Catholics fast and most don't eat red meat or chicken
On saturday we don't do much because Jesus is still dead
And on sunday we celebrate his coming back from death and it's a celebration because it's supposed to be a miracle
