Andy, I really cant imagine how Lil Wayne would have been received if he released the lollipop song like mid or early 90s. He would have been a bigger laughing stock then Vanilla Ice. The latter reminds me of how most mainstream commercial rappers like Young Money these days are variations of Vanilla Ice (except skin colour), just gimmicky nonsensical BS that is supposed to cater to the lowest common dominator.

The God must be shaking his head in disbelief over this stuff.

Has DJ Premier ever spun shit for "Weezy"? I just can't see him making a serious beat for that moron to ruin, let alone actually listen to such nonsense.

I mean, just look at the progression of music over the past two decades. In the 90's we had the likes of Gang Starr, KRS, Rakim and OutKast who all put out music with a message; respectable shit. We also had more "respectable" female artists like TLC, Salt n Pepper, among others who could actually make sense when they spoke. But nowadays music is flooded with absolute morons like "Weezy", Lady Gaga, and "Ke$ha" who all look drugged up and dumbed down and unable to even formulate a coherent statement. They're like a bunch of zombies. It's unbelievable.

One can easily notice the decline of civilization just by listening to the radio.

Who is that? You got my interest with Socom.

And regarding your above post, totally agree. I remind you of this Lupe song who illustrates well what a formulaic and retarded farce todays rap can be, hehe what a parody:
