It depends. I was in Spain in 2008 and I found it cheaper than here, but it depends on what are you looking for. If you want a nice hotel then I doubt it'll be cheaper than anywhere else in the EU, but if you want to rent a house or an apartment, you can do cheaper than in most of the other European countries. For partying, drinking, food etc, it'll be cheaper.
