The difference between Tiger and the EPL is that Tiger probably is better than everyone else. If he died today or became so injured he could no longer play, that would probably be the opposite of the outcome you were looking for. He'd become a golf martyr.

No. But the unilateral worship of Tiger Woods has been a deterrent, for one. There's no way I would want to follow football, for example, if the media covered Balotelli (or even CR, Messi, etc.) the way they do Tiger Woods.
