I see my family enough. My relatives live down the street.
St. Patty's Day for me isn't about getting wasted. It's about meeting up with friends I see far less than my family and the same thing with Mardi Gras (actually only been once) and Cinco de Mayo. Sure drinking is part of it, but you probably won't be able to understand for a few more years. When you get older, it gets more difficult to keep in touch with good friends. People tend to drift off and do there own thing, part of growing up I guess. But good friends make time to get together, even if it only occurs once in a while.
I tend to enjoy those moments more than the ones spent with my family, probably because they occur less often.
I was joking man, preferences for holidays all depend upon your personal life and how you spend the day. For me, thanksgiving is a better holiday because I rarely spend time with my family

I don't get to see much family during Thanksgiving because they all live 10 hours away. They don't usually make the trip to PA so phone conversations is what usually happens.
Dont celebrate Thanksgiving, but Eid (tommorrow) which is similar in the gathering of families etc.
Well mine is basically on litterally on every corner of this planet (ok, not antartica or southamerica ), except closest relatives that is. But generally ends up with LOTS of longdistance calls, discussing how delicious halwa is
Thats actually what a co worker said few years ago, unvoluntarily when he didnt know anything about it, even how its spelled and said, just found out it was that day from a mischevious co-worker who wanted to mess with him
