Henry handles the ball twice in the box, they score.

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic.

I've never really liked Henry, but this just confirms it now. I hate that choking cheater.

Fuck Henry. He should be ashamed. If we'd won because an Irish player scored like that I'd be pissed off. Henry is pathetic. Bring in video technology now.

FIFA have gotten what they wanted: France in the World Cup.

If the new box-referee was there like in the Europa League he would have got that, and thats why i think this will be the way to run matches at this level in about 2-3 years at most.

Not just a push but a guide, he placed it perfectly to get away from the Irish player and position a pass to Gallas.

Check out the Suggestions thread, Abejaa is back

As much as Henry is a sleazeball, I still don't want technology to determine match outcomes. It becomes a spectacle for the people with TV sets and slow-motion Tivo replays -- not for the players on the pitch and the fans around them.

I'd rather have good sport than good television.

But don't we already have that? We have replays galore during matches anyway.

If they can figure out a way to do it quickly, then I don't see a problem with it. At least the decision will be correct.

I disagree.

It should be about the players, not mistakes by the officials.
And the main reason you know it's a mistake?

Television.

I don't like the idea of an officiating system designed to cater to TV viewers more than any other perspective. What a spectator experiences on TV, with slow motion replays and zoom shots, etc., is often little like what happens in real-time on the pitch.

I completely disagree. The outcome of football matches should not be determined by mistakes by officials. If we can take these out of the game (at least for the big decisions) then we should.

I'm going to bed.
