Most sports are ridiculous when you ruduce them to their simplest form.
Is hitting a small ball into a hole with a stick any stupider or less of a sport than trying to kick a ball into a net?
People underrate how mentally tough things like golf are. Just because it isn't a huge physical challenge, doesn't mean it is any less of a sport.

I really try to observe it well, but I don't think there are many things to be taken under consideration.

when you narrow the choices you get from golf it comes to the same, hitting the same small ball into a hole. You might need some "talent" (quotes being the most important part) but I guess you can take marbles and ask someone to take the challenge and call it a sport.
