A starting position at the National Weather Service. Salary sucks during the first year but gradually increases every year for the first five. The business jobs have dried up, obviously.

Yep, a security clearance is indeed needed. Hopefully I'll be able to get one despite some speeding tickets and a disorderly conduct noise violation. :rolleyes2
Oh boy. Well it's just a routine thing, despite how creepy it feels.

What I don't get about the US job market is that just about everyone you talk to about their job won't tell you anything identifiable about it. They won't even say what company it is. Which makes me think they must have all demanded NDAs, otherwise why would they be so scared of divulging it?
