How has it been treating you, sir?

I installed it yesterday morning and since then it's been hell but that's only because of recklessness from my side. As of now things has become much much better. KDE 4.2 is a huge leap from 4.1 except for the wireless tool. However I "discovered" Wicd and things have taken a total different dimension.

On another note, Eurosport are showing live London Marathon, how fun is it to watch such an event on TV?

I started the upgrade at around 9 last night. Such a stupid move. Went to bed at 3. My first impressions are.. gnome desktop looks exactly the same, while font rendering got sharper in KDE (it was a tad blurry on my screen, but not so much it would bother me). Digikam 0.10 is installed, but still, after over a year's waiting, without the XMP editing functionality, god knows why not, the fedora build has it. What else, monodevelop (my close personal friendly the last 2 months) 2.0 looks fantastic. And my KDE desktop all round feels a bit sluggish compared to what it was before the upgrade.

For what it's worth I think kubuntu is way better at this point. All gnome ever gets is cosmetic changes to the theme and some new printing gui (or things of that nature) that I couldn't care less about.

I didn't notice it being sluggish but what I did yesterday was an upgrade and it started freezing and behaving in a very weird way. And it might have been a bit slower. I will never ever do upgrades again, clean installs are better and easier and one can restore things in a much cleaner way.

I've been using Kubuntu since 7.04 and I always loved it. never had any major problems in it, everything has a solution.

I know you complain a lot about networking and I agree Kubuntu are lacking in that field but now with Wicd it has become great.

You know EXIF right? XMP is the same but for user created metadata. Who took the picture, who's in it, where was it taken etc.
