I experienced the most bizarre case of document "recovery" with this spreadsheet app once. It was crash happy, so I saved often. While it wasn't crashing it ran just fine. But once it crashed, and to enable recovery it would save a second file in the same location as the state of the document before the crash. What actually happened was that it crashed, wrote garbage into the "recovery" file AND the document file. So in its zeal to recover it managed to corrupt something that wasn't broken.
