you put me in a difficult spot. I essentially think I'm better than a lot of people. it's what self confidence is based on. but then I've seen people who think everyone is better than them, and I wouldn't switch places
Self confidence is based on knowing one is better than a lot of people.
Being an arrogrant pain in the arse is different.

Not that I think you are.

but arrogance is about behavior, not conviction. you can be confident like mourinho and yet never show it, noone will accuse you of arrogance. it's what you say, not what you think.

Arrogrant people are convinced they are better than others by definition of bring themselves, and that is their conviction. Self confidence is acceptable as long as we find the person personable. Mourinho no (although he is better than most) but nevertheless an arrogrant prat: George Best yes, hero.

Both exhibit behaviour traits, one feels ephemeral one eternal.

Again, if you act on it, then you can still be arrogant.

It can also be in action, and actions are harder to hide than just not opening your mouth.
again correct. so if you avoid both you got it made

Which is next to impossible.
depends how you look at it. thinking you're better than someone doesn't necessarily mean you think they're dirt. it can mean you just think you could challenge this person and win at any of the things you're good at. that in itself is a pretty standard belief

that's what it is though. it's not a conviction based on strong facts, it's pretty much a delusion that helps you stand up to a challenge. and if you lose, no big deal. delusional beliefs dont need factual reinforcement. mourinho is no more shaken in his confidence after a cl exit than he is any other day
