When did he then? Right after 9/11 he surely said he was not responsible for the attacks, but rather he said more attacks would follow. You know about true Jihad movements... if they were responsible, they'd make sure people know they were.

The thing is he did hint at being responsible. Perhaps it was merely a case of wanting to be associated with them, I don't know. Either way I don't think it's particularly relevant.

I think people tend to confuse approval with claiming responsibility, especially when all the pundits were blaming OBL the day after the attacks, some even on the day of, without any proof whatsoever. Nice con-game there.

But they don't have a true admission, nor any other evidence, which is why the FBI doesn't hold him responsible for the 9/11 attacks.

I sort of agree keeping him alive in lockdown for the rest of his life would be the better option. Showing the world pictures of his dead body in the stranglehold of a noose would probably incite more violence.

One of my favorite little stories about 9/11 was how someone found a passport of a supposed hijacker in the streets of New York. Then what do you know, the guy turned up alive in Africa. Man, those passports must be produced with some pretty strong paper.

Oddly enough killing Osama would kill all credibility you have no matter how much you spend on AIDS groups.
