Sadly. But at least when software is busted there is something you can do about it. (Especially when you have the source. :eyebrows: ). As for hardware, unless you have an electronics lab in your basement, all you can do is send it back and hope it will come back fixed.

but when the problem lies with the write-protected EEPROM, and a team of technicians who know jack shit about the hardware they support, then there's nothing i can do about it but to sell my burdens to someone else! :D
That's called research, to avoid those hardware traps. Of course you can never be sure the hardware you buy is actually gonna work.. :shifty:

well, msot of the search results for my monitor was not in english, and was mostly sales related.

not to forget, the misleading 'Works With Vista' mark! thankfully, my new one has 'Certified for Vista' on it.

lol the "vista certified" thing has been the biggest farce ever. At first, noone knew what it meant to be "vista compatible", so they just sorta winged it. Started selling "Vista capable" computers 6 months before Vista even came out. Then it turned out Vista totally sucks and even big hardware struggles. So some hardware manufacturers started lowballing to raise their sales, selling cheaper hardware, turned out their stuff wasn't "capable" at all.

In other words, if you know what's good for you stay as far away from "vista certified" as possible, and use your own judgment, forget marketing.

yeah. i know about that shit! but what i did yesterday was a completely hasty purchase. it's the rule #1 when buying something. i had no mon yet, and HAD to buy one before the Juve match. and the stores had nothing but this(and i did ask in a lot of stores, but none had 22"). im just hoping it lasts long without any problems! :xcrossed:

When Juve gets into the semifinals of the CL this term, I'm gonna put my money down and get an LCD Tv so that we can watch the match in style... (planning to sell my old bike :p, that should get in some much needed funds :D)
