Well some companies in South Africa are sole distributors for particular products, but on their suppliers websites direct purchases can be made worldwide. They claim that im bringing in the product illegally & im trying to "mess up" the market. We pay excessively high prices fro electronic goods in Arica in general.

Sony Ericsson for example offers a worldwide warranty on their products, but they have refused to repairs some handsets ive purchased in saudi arabia.

The warranty card mite have some clause?
No,they have sole distributing rights & dont want ppl to know that they are being ripped off.So they tell them its "grey" to make it seem wrong to purchase anything abroad.Id just like to if any of you have purchased something abroad & experienced some similar.
