thx martin
so what do you suggest i get in regards to add-ons and tweaks to maximize this thing? are there any reccomendations or must haves you can think of?
and where do i go get them?
As I told Bozi at this juncture a few short weeks ago, the way you install stuff is through a package manager. That means you install app the same way and remove it the same way, it's divine. If you want the pointy clicky way look for something called Add/Remove Software in the menus.
If you want the full blown mission control (the real man's way  ) hit Alt-F2 and enter "gnome-terminal". Then just type the name of apps you want, like "mplayer", "vlc" and "amarok" and buntu will respond with how to install them.
EDIT: oh and once you figure out how to install apps, you might want to get "kubuntu-desktop". That will give you the KDE desktop and you will have both Gnome (the default) and KDE to try out. This edit is sponsored by Jack.
