I'm about to read the phone-book-sized election materials for Tuesday here. They include (and this is no exaggeration):

• a 144-page State of California General Election booklet
• a 16-page Supplement to the State of California General Election booklet -- because apparently 144 pages wasn't enough
• a 272-page Consolidated General Election booklet for the City and County of San Francisco

I just want to vote. I don't want to finish a Dostoyevsky novel.

And people wonder why some people don't vote....
