You know, though, this is such a cliché, flippant answer from Linux users (and I've been "using" since '96), I wonder if you realize how annoying this is to some people.

It's almost like some guy complains about the heat in Yemen and people jump on him and say, "Move to Sweden! Life is so much better here!"

Yes, it is, perhaps. But life is a lot more complicated than single issues though. Same goes with why someone might be running something other than Ubuntu.

If you put it in this perspective I can answer you simply by saying it all goes down to what one gets accustomed to. Personally I use three different distros on three different computers, one of them has Kubuntu and I never say that Ubuntu is the better one, I suggest it to other because things work without any effort at all.

Hell, even 200 level calculus we had quizzes every single day. Those hurt my grade, badly.
