For me it works so why would I change it :p I start it when i was 16 and lost 10 kg since then :weee:
It is just a dumb way of thinking about it. Say you eat four times in a day, cereal, a soup and a salad, a fruit parfait, and some roast chicken with vegetables. That is healthier than eating two meals a day, a pizza and a McDonalds.

I'm eating in the morning/afternoon one or two healthy sandwich and then a dinner in the early night (sometimes that is a pizza but not every day) and I eat sometimes a yoghurt dessert and I'm a vegetarian so I hate McDonald's.

But I agree with you that my eating-pattern not that good is but I scared to change it and become fat again :)

You won't get fat so long as you eat good food and exercise. Sorry, things like that are a huge pet peeve of mine.
