Same thing happens to me man! It's worse for me though because I can't make up for the lack of sleep on the plane ride. The plane ride is half the fun of the trip for me.

Nope. If its quality is anywhere near that of Emirates then you don't have any reason to be worried... And because Etihad was launched to counter the Emirates, I think you can expect very good service... How long is the journey going to be to Abu Dhabi? and where exactly are you put up in the US?
