Why should the non-Irish celebrate the arrival of Christianity in Ireland?
We don't celebrate that, here it's just an excuse to be happy and drink for a day with an Irish theme.

No relatives or stupid get-togethers, no spiritual or cultural meaning for us at least.

It's a great holiday, man.

Why do you need an excuse?

If I want to go out and get hammered, I go out and get hammered. I don't need some shitty holiday for that.

Most people go beyond hammered though. They straight up drink themselves into oblivion and have a legitimate excuse the next day when they can't do shit.
