Just heard a shopper on the news say, "I can't afford this TV without the discount."

Well then you can't afford it period.

Stupid people. "Buy now or be priced out forever."
What do you mean? Let's say I like $1,000 shoes but can't afford them and they're down to $300, which I could afford.

I can't afford the pair for $1,000 but I can afford it for $300

This is why we have millions of people in financial distress living on food stamps.

"We didn't see it coming" (as the cameraman films your house, which is underwater, and your 50 inch flat screen and in your $300 3 inch heels)

Just made an amazing sandwich for dinner. Turkey, stuffing and homemade cranberry sauce all on freshly made vienna bread.

I should start my own deli. This is delicious. This... is... Andy's Deli.

Yep and you see them shopping for groceries at Walmart carrying $800 Louis Vuitton purses.

But my point is this:

Take for example this guy who works with me. He's poor and makes the minimum wage here. He was saving to get a new TV and there was a plasma TV sale this week, so he went and got one. He could afford it because it was on sale. If not he would still be saving so he could get it at regular price God knows when.

Maybe my shoes example wasn't as substantial for you guys because shoes are irrelevant for you, but keep in mind I wasn't just talking about shoes. It can be a TV, PS3, whatever you have in mind.

I understand what a sale is.

But if you don't have any emergency money saved away, and going into debt to finance your other purchases through use of a credit card, then you really can't afford these things.

But who cares about financial responsibility.
