My sleepover buddy! How's your sleep lately? Last night I couldn't fall asleep for a long time, didn't feel tired. So far I'm holding up after that.
Its been a bad few days... I go to bed at about 12, but I don't asleep like until 3... Even if I do get sleep, I wake up after an hour or two and lie in bed for a few hours until I fall asleep again... getting about 4-6 hours of broken sleep and its frustrating. I think it'll be better once I get back to my place day after. At least there won't be people moving about inside the house early in the morning...

Waking up in the middle of it is really annoying, after all that struggle to fall asleep. Last night I finally got to sleep, then woke after an hour or so. Decided to get up and just wait it out reading a book.

Btw have you tried doing things to make yourself tired? I'm not sure if this actually works or if it's just wishful thinking but it seems to me that if you make the brain tired you fall asleep sooner. That's a major reason why I started with audiobooks a few years ago, I basically always fall asleep to those since. And I think it helps.

Before that I tried the opposite approach, to do something boring (watch tv late at night). That doesn't work at all.

 There is a guy named Michael Burks on To catch a predator
we are all over, WATCH OUT.

that is actually true me ex-ex and her fgamily have lived in Scotland for 15 years and her mum still does not speak a words of English
yea the Italians are much like the South Americans like that, willing to live in another country but thinking their way of life is better and refusing to change, they are the only people I've heard of that move somewhere and expect everyone to change for them.

Well that's different. But saying that, as an American, you shouldn't try to learn another language is bullshit. It really does limit your view as oddly enough not all ideas or concepts translate well. Never mind the fact that with language comes culture and it would most likely make someone like Andy less of a prick if he had basic knowledge of Italian before coming to Italy. I can pretty much guarantee you that no one would like his behaviour inside the Olimpico.
Well Andy and I had many years of foreign languages, and even though I didn't like it, my 5 years of French and 4 years of Latin gave me a much better understanding of English.
That wouldn't bother Andy though, he takes every reaction of disapproval as a bolstering of his unique point of view.
    This I agree with.
I'm SO sleepy. Don't know if I should sleep at work for about 2 hours, or go home for teh day and sleep for eternity.
Pull a Rip Van Winkle and quit your job and sleep for 40 years.

How about making your body tired? Gym, running, swimming, anything for about 1h and before going to bed.

As a systematic thing, I haven't tested it enough to claim that it solves the problem or doesn't.

As a singular "medication" to address the current symptom, it's not convincingly effective. A lot of people will tell you don't do anything physically stressful like that right before bed, some say not even after 18. I definitely won't sleep when I'm right back from exercise and tired, I'll need at least 1.5-2h to wind down. But after that do I sleep better? We don't have statistically significant findings.
