Ah. Over here you register for stuff through an online system. It dictates what your options are. Sometimes it screws up and you have to email the administration to fix your registration. It's standard in Holland and the universities co-operate on building a single system that all of them can use. It was the same in Norway when I went to college there. These online systems aren't exactly the next wonder of the world, the one I used back in Norway had an uptime of about 50%. What's more, the constraints were too strict and it didn't let me register for stuff that I should be able to. But even with problems like that they take the load off the administration in the 70-80% of cases that work just fine. Humans are always the most expensive cog in any system.
