It's time. Venture capital markets look scarce for 2009, so the CEO and I agreed that I should look around. It will keep more Indians and less chiefs at the current company, as I help plan their budget cuts. And it will give me more of an opportunity to use my skills and develop myself at a place that could better utilize me under the circumstances.

Essentially, I planned to lay myself off. Short term pain, but longer term gain.
