Most people (at least here) think Stolichnaya is the shit because it's original and legit russian vodka. When I went to Russia and asked them russians about Stoli, they would literally make this face . Absolut is more expensive than Stoli there!

Well, for her that was the 1990s and in a city on the edge of Siberia.

Since then, with all the $$$ of oil exports, they probably want to elevate the prestige of imports like all countries tend to do.

Yep I get his point as well, in fact when I drink at my house/friend's houses we drink good stuff, but when we go out and my friends want to get a bottle of Smirnoff I can't say no because I don't think it's good. That's why lately I've been drinking more rum, it's cheaper (because it isn't imported) and it has good quality
