The HTC dream? What are the buttons like? They look very plastic and uncomfortable.
yup, the Dream. its a great phone with simplistic visual and ergonomic feel. but the OS and the design is amazing. its not as pretty as an iphone but it blows it away in terms of performance, stability, UI, and customization. plus the theory of having ONLY a virtual keyboard was just dumb from the start. thats where HTC wins the battle hands down. plus the screen resolution is amazing even though its standard

I've never written anything for a phone cause I hate phones, they really suck. I'm wondering if maybe android might be the first generation that doesn't suck. At least the runtime is open enough so that you can do stuff on it.

It's only my future if I make it my future. Estimates show that within some year there's gonna be 1 billion internet connected computers and 3 billion phones online.

But the question is how useful are those things ever gonna be? So far the vendors have done a piss poor job in the usability department, I curse my old Samsung for being for being such a braindead design and yet it was one of the better choices back when I bought it.

phone companies have always had the technology, its the carriers with insufficient data networks who have held them back. functionality is based on capability

I'm talking about the functionality on the handset itself, that's step number one. You can talk about networked functionality, that's a separate issue. But they are closely related, if you don't care about the first you'll never do a decent job on the other.
