Damn, so dropkicking him in the head is out the question.

What type of thesis is it, over here you're talking 80,000-100000 words for a PHD and Masters and MA 'theses' are called dissertations and between 8,000-25,000 words.

Basically I'm writing a 10,000 essay with no empirical data whatsoever and a page of literature review and niche analysis :blah:

To be honest: no idea. The main point of my thesis is not the writing, it's engineering work. I have a software product that I need to transform, adapt etc. The thesis will then describe those techniques and results. I imagine it's gonna be something like 100 pages or more, but it's a technical document, not prose. My bachelor "thesis" was actually 300 pages and included every single piece of paper I had produced in those 6 months, like minutes from meetings, slides from my presentation etc.

 well at least this one (2nd year dissertation) will give me practice for next year but for fuck sake, what you're doing sounds damn near herculean, best of luck with the whole process, I think you just perspectiveised my ass :D now I'm glad I picked BA over Bsc if only for the merit of my numerical retardation. 6 Months :vinny: I'm writing this in 30 days

Good Luck this afternoon though, I'm sure the fact that you have done ever more so comprehensive work previously will engender a lot of support for your supervisor

Well I like to go kinda heavy on the documents, because I know that this counts for more than any of the technical work in the end, it's why I got an A on my bachelor thesis. It's not that they bother reading it, but it "seems to be all there". And I also don't mind writing, I like explaining the things I've come up with. But this makes me unusual, most people in computer science will write as little as possible.

Yeah I'm already trying to show that I'm serious about the project by writing documents, written two 10 pagers so far, but I still need a formal "thesis proposal" which is gonna be longer (<20) and more detailed.
