vpn connections are the equivalent of dial-up
i always wondered what that was cos i thought it was some sort of private connection to a private network, it has a setting on xp but never figured it was the same as dail up. is'nt that slow or it depends from country to country cos over here dail up is toooooooooo slow depending on the rush hour.

vpn connection is fast but its just slow because of firewalls and other proxies that you have to tunnel through

The VPN Connection at my school isn't too bad. I can watch a stream from it on ESPN360 at least.

I'm about to head to a computer lab where I can work with Fortran.

driving is easy unless you are an asian woman. so i think you are ok marcello
Yep,driving really is easy. It's another thing at the exams though beacuse you-asian woman or not-are pretty nervous at the beginning.I am at least and that is what worries me:(.Anyway, here in Germany it will just take 45 min. errorless driving and I'll get the damn thing so I should be really ok.

If I won't succeed the money is blown out of the window and that would piss me off immensely:(.

Yeah, I know they're pretty strict in Germany regarding licenses. Probably a good thing though.

Good luck.

I'm laughing my ass off at something a former coworker at a particle physics lab just sent me ... webcams at the Large Hadron Collider:

http://www.cyriak.co.uk/lhc/lhc-webcams.html

To think it's been a dozen years since I've been in that business...and it's still pretty funny.
What's that supposed to be? The video keeps going offline and then you have to click to reset.

Lol it's a black hole swallowing up the earth due to the Hadron Collider.
As someone who used to work in particle physics where these devices were set up, the extra funny part is that it's common to find webcam pages for devices that look exactly like this in design (or lack thereof), text, etc. They nailed it.

Still stuck trying to figure out a Fortran program where I have to use a Function and Subroutine.

They had that site constructed before the experiment took place I assume?

Oh man, I would have loved to pass that to my friends while they were running the machine. :D
