My boss comes to me and says "why aren't you working". I say "there's nothing to do". So he says "well pretend that you're working". I say "you pretend that I'm working".

Try that on him sometime.

Competition consulting, really have no idea what to imagine with that.
well, two firms are merging and need the clearance of the competition authority (EU Commission or national authorities).

Law firms take care of the legal side, but they often need A LOT of economic input on that. e.g. market shares, consumer behaviour, price levels etc. That's what we do. Basically, we're trying to prove that there will be enough residual competition after the merger.

nah, we mostly get our data from external data collectors, and the authorities are doing their homework on that too.
Besides, our fee doesn't depend on the result of the case, so we don't really have incentive to risk anything stupid like that.

Anayway, I'm just doing this for fun; I'm done by the end of the month!
