No error?
What are the contents of it?

If gmote.sh is in /bin and you're not standing in /bin then ./gmote.sh doesn't exist. ./ means "in this directory". Try just gmote.sh

I was at MediaMarkt today, went by the phone section among others. Didn't see anything I liked, not a single Android handset.

Understandable. Non-android sets are really lame.

The Samsung Galaxy is having good reviews now, it can be bought from Germany's O2 and it is not operator blocked.

HTC Hero is also great but it has the same hardware as Magic just more functions which makes it slower.

Probably way outside my price range still. I'm not down with replacing my phone every 2 years either.
