Probably both. It's definitely MTV trying to gain a hold unseen demographic. They wouldn't show the commercials if there wasn't something for them to gain by doing it.
Stuff like this could turn out to be a self-fulfilling prophecy due to actions from all parties though. The crazies shooting up memorial museums, the DHS claiming you could be a terrorist for questioning the Fed, the media from all sides of the spectrum, overall economic deterioration persisting, Swine flu fear-mongering... all of it could come together to actually create a situation for martial law. That's what makes it interesting, especially because there are Fema Camps, cities preparing plans for mass casualties, etc.

Although this reminds me of Operation Blackjack put out by the Guardian, UK. It was a "artsy" slideshow about how nuclear bombs would go off in major US cities, eventually leading to a fascist North American Union. And the creators even inserted a code within the slides saying in English, "too bad this is for real." Very strange piece put out by the Guardian.

Time to hit the waves again. Swells up and quite rough going into high tide. Apparently lifeguards are having to save a bunch of people from riptides, so when that happens you know you got some waves.

PACE.

    Peace, yo.
    It's hot as shit outside.

It's just part of their "think" campaign.
