Spent the afternoon wandering through the forest, picking chanterelle mushrooms. Just sautéed some with garlic and butter. A dash of sea salt and pepper. So simple, but so good.

I know I could buy them at one of the roadside mushroom sellers out that way and let someone else put the time in finding them, but there’s something so satisfying about foraging them oneself. :boh:

Try them lightly sautéed and reduced in dashi broth. Nice little mezze course

A few hours ago I was about to open the door of my house after going to the supermarket with my wife and kids when we heard a hard blow in the park some 50 meters away from my house. About 30 seconds later two guys came running at us, the first with quite a lot of blood on his legs screaming in blind panic that the guy behind him tried to stab him.

Afterwards really with some yelling and pushing somehow I got the situation under control. The guy with the knife tried to run a few times but somehow I was able to stop him. At a certain point we agreed to look to the car (at that point I didn’t even knew that a car was involved in the situation). That was also the moment when the guy with the knife just run into the bushes and threw his knife in the ditch. Tried to hide the evidence, multiple witnesses heard something falling in the water.

The situation was basically this: guy with the knife robbed the other guy. He went down chasing him in his car, probably tried to kill him but he hit a tree. I think that the knife came back into the scene at that point, given the sheer panic of the driver. Afterwards they ran into us. The car was a wreck.

Really the moment when I was exposed between those lunatics in front of my house with my wife, kids and the neighbour and her little son very nearby us was horrible. Felt like ages for the police to arrive, ultimately both got arrested.

Maybe I read this all wrong, but the guy that was getting robbed got arrested too? Why?

I hope your family isn’t too shook by this incident.

might I inquire about the ethnicity or skin color of both the individuals involved?

Because after he got robbed he took his car, somehow chased that robber who went into the park, tried to hit him with his car but ran into a tree. And it’s just a straight road, people only walk their dogs there or go somewhere with their bicycle. So I’m confident in saying that he tried to hurt or even kill him.

The robber: young Moroccan dude, Gucci hat, L&V bag

The driver: (I think) Dutch, a bit older, between 25/30. Was from the south of this country based on his accent

That is messed up, sir. I'm glad you're ok. You and your family were at risk of some serious kung fu fighting mayhem.
