Congratulations Douchen. Kinda funny coffee is 2nd most important thing you think of for your raise:D
Thanks! :))

Coffee was an exaggeration I'd say but I can't say that when it comes to books. I drink coffee regularly, it's not like I can't afford but, but the exotic coffee from SA seems expensive for me even with the pay raise lol. 1kg is like 50-70e which is way, way too much for my wallet. When it comes to books, it's not like I can't afford them, I was buying them even when I had no job. I usually find good offers when it comes to used books as people sell them for peanuts. Still, there are some newly published (Pynchon comes to mind) that are like 30e which is quite a hit for me (plus it's a normal edition, no delux or anything). Majority of books are in the range of 7-12e and those are fine. But it's just that I buy a lot of read, as I still read quite frequently, so it sure is something that wallet suffers from. Oh and I do love libraries for what they are, but I'm not a huge fan of using those, as I hate the idea of returning the book in case I love it (which is almost always the case because I know what I want and what's, at least for me, a good book).

As for the pay raise per se, I'm really glad I got it though. There are just way too many things that I find epic in life and having money surely makes it easier to obtain/enjoy. My salary is still peanuts but I think I'm great when it comes to savings as I can say I'm an expert of enjoying life and things even without a penny, so anything extra counts as a mountain for me. The idea of enjoying more wine, perfumes, cinemas, small travels within a county, coffee shops and buying clothes that I like are enough to make me extra satisfied. I was also planning to buy a new PC because my is falling apart, but that seems a way too heavy hit because mining has made it impossible to buy a good GPU for a normal amount of money, so prices are literally triple. I love some occasional gaming so I'd like some better PC and not some shit Intel processor that's for sure. Lastly, we'll have to renovate the house and that's just... absolutely insane. What used to cost 10k euros now it's close to 20k, which means my will to save a lot might crumble when it comes down to those investments so I'll be left with pennies. But hey, at least I can help a bit unlike before. People have no clue how EU economy (and us in line) will crumble when winter comes. The inflation is already through the roof. Governments will shatter and there will be no electricity and gas, possibly empty shelves, plus I expect many more waves of inflation.

That's awesome!

You sure there isn't some ulterior motive going on? :D

Not to make you suspicious. But given your stories of people who pay crap and justify it...
Imagine how weak work force is when I'm the one that stands out.

Anyway, I'm there for two months and I gotta say I worked my ass off. There's just so much work it's crazy. I'm not gonna brag about it because it's sick, but for two months I never took a 30min break. It's that bad. I'm not exactly a fan of this job, far from it, but unlike majority of businesses here these guys actually pay a bit more than an average salary. It's just that people are on the edge considering the work load but apparently there are some moves going on. First off, it seems we're getting five more people joining us (which is basically nothing, plus it takes at least three months until somebody gets the routine). Secondly, which is still unconfirmed, it seems that within two weeks we're getting a team of 20 joining us from Manila (Philippines). What's good about that is that they will work third shift only (still not official), we'd be left with first and second shift only. I literally hate second shift too as it totally ruins social life and it's simply not worth the sacrifice but oh well, unfortunately I can't be picky at the moment as there are not better offers on the horizon. Still, despite me being there for only two months, I'm dead tired.
