Most English desserts/puddings are pretty stodgy, best for autumn and winter. STP is a favourite of mine, especially with custard (if you've tried it?).

Yeah I tried STP with custard. So gooood.

Also tried flapjacks and apple crumble, they're good but STP still my clear number one.

Carrot cake is kinda meh or maybe I've had it way too much cause my mum used to make it.

Thanks for the list though. I have a friend visiting soon and he wants to try the best of English food.

Lol that's funny because I live with an Italian chick. She refuses to eat frozen pizza. Also criticizes pasta, tomatoes, fruits and other ingredients.

One thing I will say though is that avocado in the UK basically has no taste compared to what you find in Bolivia.

Dude, I've been to a Cici's Pizza in North Carolina. It's all-you-can-eat pizza buffet there, including American specials like ... and I kid you not ... peanut butter & jelly pizza.

I would expect UK avocados to be container-ship-ripened, and hence iffy. And if they're local and fresh, they're likely a bizarro small cultivar that grows in a cooler climate that seems like an avocado in name only.

Hass - buttery and simply delicious. The ones in the UK also seem to be Hass but as you said, they're usually small and crappy.
