Ah misread.

I wouldn’t freak out if I were them but I’d definitely try to be prepared just in case
Cat I hurricane is nothing really if you have normal infrastructure. We don’t have that on north shore. Old trees go over and between power lines often. I have 3 cases in my front yard only. You have to live here to know.

our very competent power company is busy tweeting woke stuff while we’re waiting for the hurricane.

Because hurricanes are a systemic byproduct of the patriarchy and white supremacy.

In fact, I would write to them and ask if they give discount rates for white power and see what they say.

This thing just looks like it wants to keep going west. The less reliable WRF-ARW is taking Henri as a Cat 1 into Toms River, NJ.

Latest GFS shows a Cat 1 landfall into Montauk with heavy outer bands even reaching NYC.

Not a word from mayor De Crazio either. I’m not sure these guys appreciate what’s coming.
he’s cheerleading for a concert tonight in queens lol.

You don’t think mansions are hurricane proof?

This is my chance to buy some salvage property out in Sag Harbor or East Hampton after Henri destroys everything out there
Haha I was in Sag Harbor last night. Beautiful place. Even if I could buy a property I could not afford the taxes.
Henri is just Cat I though. It wouldn’t do a thing

At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if the landfall is NYC. These models don’t do a good job at all with high strength and wobbles. All it needs is another 50 miles west and you’re there.

Sag Harbor always sounded like a community full of old feminists who burned their bras long ago.

I'm surprised wasn't being talked about more here. I was on Rockaway Beach last night with some people when everyone's phones got the emergency alert for the storm surge, but that's about it. Weather channel saying it's shifting eastward a bit now?
Slightly East now, yeah. But models are still all over the place. NHC forecast still looks pretty good but watch out for jogs east or west.
