I don't understand how "hey, maybe lets not create so much single-use plastics/lets move away from fossil fuels/overuse resources/pollute as much ect" is equal to "NO ONE CAN HAVE ANY FUN AND EVERYONE GIB ME MONIES." Making any of those changes would better society. No one is saying don't have a smart phone or laptop or eat meat or whatever, what purpose does it serve to exaggerate things to such a point?
If you take a problem and exaggerate so it seems like it’s not a problem then it isn’t as important as it actually is. Same as dehumanizing groups of people so it’s easier to do terrible things to them.

So because long term there are forced we can't control does that mean pollution and over use of resources are not issues worth addressing?

Because the sun will explode in five million years there is no reason to ensure the planet is liveable for the next few hundred?

I can understand people finding Greta and similar figures very annoying but that doesn't mean the cause is invalid.
I don’t think people can really fathom how many variables there are in meteorology and climatology. It isn’t as simple as a one to one relationship, or a single thermodynamic equation. Stuff like teleconnections, ENSO, and solar activity all dictate the weather we experience on a long term basis. You can’t just point to a synoptic wave of showers moving off the coast of Africa, forming into a hurricane, and pinpoint one single variable and say “that did it!” These types of things form over thousands of miles and thousands of variables impacting it, from steering currents to sheer to water temperatures. It’s intellectual dishonesty to say that something like global warming caused by human activity created or exacerbated a hurricane when those things have existed for as long as the earth has carried water.

Even so, if human activity creates prolonged warming through CO2 emissions as they say, what can be done to solve the problem that will not hinder human activity in some capacity? Mind you, all of this is speculation since there are thousands or millions of atmospheric variables at play at any given time. What can be done to prevent the supposed man made warming and catastrophic impacts other than stifling economic growth or killing millions of people? Sure, we can utilize technological advancements to limit emissions, but eventually the human population will be so large that the whole planet may be covered in asphalt for the purposes of cities, thus creating a massive urban heat island effect. But that type of man made warming is OK, apparently. We have to tax carbon instead.

This planet doesn’t give a shit about you or anybody. It’s a huge fucking mass orbiting the sun within a solar system among millions of others. It will do its own thing regardless of what we do.

Somehow Andy, the blase attitude you have in this post makes me think of citizens ancient Pompei. Mocking Mount Vesuvius as a dormant little bitch, just before it Barbecue chickened them all.
Is this similar to the sermons I will miss tomorrow? “You’re going to hell! God hates fags!”

I think Igor Tudor, along with others, are sick of figureheads pushing social agendas that translate into nothing more than raising taxes on people in the hope of solving a problem that cannot be solved. Nothing can stop climate change - it’s part of the lifecycle of any planet. One day the sun will become a red giant and vaporize Mercury, venus, and earth. No amount of taxes paid to some fucking retards is going to stop that, and neither will slaughtering 90% of humans by placing asinine restrictions on modern life. Folks always say the Bible thumpers are nuts, and rightfully so. But this climate crap is the new masochist doomsday religion of the masses. People need to chill and join a ufo cult, or engage in rent seeking for something more important, like porn anonymity.
Oh, but that's a cop-out, Andy. Just because all future problems for society have complex roots that don't lend themselves to linear thinking and overly reduced cause-and-effect analysis doesn't mean they are unsolvable. It means that there are systemic problems that aren't solved with the old reductionist tools and mindset that got us in this mess to begin with.

Otherwise, it's a bit like saying that the 1989 Montreal Protocol ban on CFC-propelled aerosols was pointless because the ozone is going to eventually be depleted anyway.

I don't understand how "hey, maybe lets not create so much single-use plastics/lets move away from fossil fuels/overuse resources/pollute as much ect" is equal to "NO ONE CAN HAVE ANY FUN AND EVERYONE GIB ME MONIES." Because taking things to absurd extremes is the only defense for someone intellectually or morally bankrupt.

I know nobody cares but I Wasn't here for some weeks.got married to a lovely girl.
And I'm back here again and happy to read the forum once more.
Hey, congrats!!! :weee:

We anthropomorphize too much. The planet doesn't have feelings. It does't really care whether our species survives or not, just as with every species that came before us.

And yet I read articles about "hungry" black holes, as if the fact that matter naturally has gravitational properties gives it some fake motivation. Like matter just took up method acting. :sergio:

I know kids made fun of you in school, but you're grown men now. Practice mindfulness and recite positive affirmations.

Why have you lately become a foaming in his mouth babbling buffoon Igor lol. Your posts are barely coherent anymore, just nonstop reactionary anger, and I dont even care about the topics lol, just how you come off in Tuz lately. Constantly triggered over anything. Are you ok my man? :) I'm not being facetious (despite the babbling buffoon part), seriously asking.

Couldnt care less what he is into, but defenitely seems spiraling lately, which is weird, hence why I asked. Barely any hint of the occasional normal posts past months (used to atleast be uno di noi Tuzzer around here despite the occasional trouble maker) , just nonstop hostility now.
