Honestly its kind of the same thing just without the 1000 years of history behind it.
Scientology is based on belief just as all religions are based on beleifs - No religion has any actual proofs behind it (despite believers interpreting things their own way to make it fit)
The reason it is being mocked is because there is no history behind it.. I wont go further than that to respect your beliefs (even if most of the people beleive in what they were educated to believe rather than really think for themselves)
