we are on a boat, and the following of orders is imperative to the survival of all, death for mutiny seems to me an appropriate punishment
Accepted, but in practice and the environment of modern societies, I believe the case against the death penalty is rather strong.

that's why arbiters are meant to be chosen for their wisdom
wisdom is result driven, cant be relied on in an a priori situation

You should give him an infraction. I'm sure it would be his first one. :D
even if my brain said yes, my finger would say no :D

¡Olé! El trabajo es en Metepec. Mostly teaching in the mornings, evenings and weekends. They sort out a place to stay and after paying for rent and utilities I should have something like $6500 pesos a month left over for food and yolo.

Does that sound livable on?

$6500 is kinda tight, if you live alone it should be enough, if as you say you have a roof and utilities (gas, electricity, ?). Still, as I say, is tight. In some parts of the country the public transport is very cheap, in others is a bit more expensive. And to put things in perspective my family spends more or less $1000 every week on the supermarket, we are four.

If you want we can PM so this thing stays on topic.

isn't that like 20 dollars?
 that's about right, el peso is falling dowwwwwn.

I guess. Crude oil is dirty cheap as of now. There are a lot of reforms going on, on energy, telecommunications, education, etc etc :blah: most of them are not wanted by a big part of the country and certainly no one likes our president.

If he actually wanted a change he would have started the construction of a refinery, so we could make our own gas, and not get anally debasted by the rising prices every year.

Basically it looks like enough to keep myself alive. I'll be sharing a house with two others but only buying stuff for myself. For instance going to the supermarket in a week I'd probably only spend $250 or something like that? Regarding transport I think I'll be within walking distance of work, and for example a bus to Mexico city costs $50. Sounds reasonable, no?

I would ask @ALC but I'm still laughing at an American mocking other countries' currency :D (inb4 a Dane comes and schools me too...)

The school are also suggesting I go for 6 months on a tourist visa...pretty sure that's illegal to do any work (even volunteer or humanitarian work) on a tourist visa. Waiting for clarification on that but they already have lots of European staff so there must be a way around it.
