I could, but as a mod he could undo again. So what's the point of that game?

Again, this goes back to my earlier point. Mods may seem like tyrants to the rest of you, but in the end we have to find ways to work with each other.

There is a sort of nuclear option. But in 99% of the time we don't employ it for a variety of reasons.

What really bothers me here is that we've escalated what started as someone who said "don't click on this" and put it in a spoiler tag into the level of nuclear options to resolve, which is pretty much idiocy-level overreaction from everyone involved.

People need to keep cool heads and not go all Kim Jong-il ... nor encourage others to do the same. We are collectively failing at that right now. I mean collectively: mods, posters, etc.

Sometimes what I do that might seem like a double standard is primarily an attempt to thwart a nuclear holocaust for everyone involved. Sometimes little things need to slide, because the alternative of making a big deal over them makes everything worse for everybody.

Ahh, the concessions and tradeoffs of global politics. :D
To be fair, I understand your point. I'm a mod on another forum and there's a very thin line between being too lenient and having people accuse you of being dictatorial. Our admin decided to go the stricter route and because of that we've lost several regular contributors who didn't agree with the policies. He's removed mods who have broken rules themselves, etc. A lot of what is tolerated here would equal a permaban over there. At the same time, that route has made the place more welcoming, because there are very few personal insults and very little trolling, since people know what the consequences are. But I won't lie that there's been an awful lot of collateral damage along the way too.

However, when enough users complain about something, I think it's worth trying to figure out a solution, rather than just tying your hands behind your back (not just you specifically, but in general). Because then you do get these cries of double standards. I have nothing against Burke either and I don't know the history of how he became a mod, again it's just a general statement.

I became a mod by blowing all the other mods.

Realistically, the reason Greg doesn't lift a hand is because a bad day now is nothing compared to how I used to be. Greg remembers when I used to set fires in this place. I'm so much more mature now, and I'm not kidding.

Meh I am tired of fighting so: If they don't involve spoilers by all means...

Why are you reading spoilers anyway? Why not just read the book and discuss it in the book thread?
I want to know the plot, not the fuckin' story. Plus, what about me makes you think I spend my free time reading? I'm no reader, I wouldn't happen in Belgium.

    What a concept!
Concept my schweinsteiger in your bonucci.

It would be nice of the mods here tried to keep matter clean and simple instead of going full retard and adding fuel to the fire. Just my 2 cents.

Asking someone to put spoilers under a spoiler tag is hardly putting their balls in a vice or being whiney. Its a completely reasonable request

Oh yeah, I agree. I didn't see any of the real spoilers, only the fake ones, but if there were real ones not under tags it's understandable why people are upset. Even fake ones, because if you haven't read the books you don't know they're fake.

Guys how did you figure out what you wanted to study in college?
Personally by taking an intro course in high school.
