Yeah, I've always thought it was a sad, pathetic race to the bottom when people celebrate victimhood as a virtue.

Racism was never meant to be a competitive sport. :pado:
Glad to see that's how you see it. Can't wait for next February so I can celebrate the beginning of the history of Africans. :weee:

Much more complicated then just that. Regardless..this is a useless discussion that will lead to nothing, I just replied to Swag's post, kinda agreed, but disagreed at the same time. Agreed that victimization and celebrating, black history month or anything of that sort is insulting and simplifies the great history Africa has.

However I wasn't in full agreement in what he said, because I didn't intend to enter a dick measuring contest with Zach with his "Ginger have been prosecuted thus for making fun of one's skin tone is ok".

Whatever makes people believe that they're entitled to some sort of elevated victimhood status based on some random characteristic, ya know.

Go far enough with this, and we've got WASP American presidents lamenting about how their "people" had to also face such a tough road ... Their people being the discriminated progeny of bankers.

My ancestors were persecuted by French Catholics. Yep, white on white. So it's derogatory to call me white and/or a Protestant, but you are more than welcome to call me Germanic, Teutonic or Gothic! (or Lord, hehe)

Still waiting for the apology from the Pope and Hollande.

Oh, wait a second scratch that Hollande. Mitterand announced a formal apology. Now it's only the Pope.
