Though I swear I said "I want a progressive Pope" and every article about him I am reading says he's one of the most conservative there is...
He chose the name of Francis for a reason, he is not placid but he believes in dialogue. He'll be a very important figure.

He's a Jesuit named after the Franciscan patron Saint, and as it goes, my patron saint :p He's from a persecuted out group, humble and very open to talking about things.

He draws redlines on issues such as contraception (except to prevent disease :) ) abortion and gay marriage.

He's the most balanced pope from what I've gathered.

That's what I had thought, I think people are forgetting this is the Pope, he's never going to be a militant liberal.
