My brother came back from Magaluf yesterday. For those who don't know about Magaluf it's a cheap and horrendously tacky place in Mallorca which is infested with northern European (mostly British and Irish) young men and women who go to have 25 too many alcoholic beverages, fornicate with everyone in sight, and get themselves admitted to A&E where all the staff 'no speak English'.

Anyway, the day he got there he was in a bar with his mates and all of a sudden thousands of US Marines and sailors turned up. One told my brother there were 5000 on the ship. Apparently they were from the USS Bataan, which had made port in Palma Nova. He was saying that they were having a bit of banter and a laugh, even though there were loads of military police walking around in hi-vis jackets. He reckoned about 70% of the guys were black as well, and some wouldn't say where they were from because they were too embarrassed :)boh:).

The barman told him it was useless trying to pull whilst they were in town  Also some English lad off his face got into a fight with one of them and got put on his arse in seconds. The bouncers there are fucking huge man mountains as well, so you really don't want the whole thing kicking off. I could thing of less troublesome places to drop off thousands of military personnel for a night out.

That's my cool story for the day.
Sounds like a good place to go.

But yeah, the Marines are hardcore. You don't fuck with them.

The marines are probably the least to worry about.

A buddy of mine was in the Air Force for 8 years before he went to Uni (where I met him). He used to lived in London and while he was there a gang of chavs tried to rob a Marine sergeant with knives outside of a grocery store. He repeatedly told them to fuck off, and was getting into his car when one of the fuckers cut his arm and tried to force the door open. Long story short, every single one of the chavs ended up in the hospital and the marine got demoted.

Word. But at least I won't have to worry about all the structural changes within my organization, and the fear of potentially being asked to leave, which might be the case for some of my co-workers. :D
Hey, there's an idea. Next time you're working for a company that is going to be laying off employees soon, hand in your resignation and when they're firing people, they'll bypass you since you're leaving anyway (they won't have to compensate you). Then after it's all over, you can say you changed your mind and want to stay.
